So April 11 was my 27th Birthday! I was not excited for this birthday like I have been the rest. I guess because it means I'm officially in my late 20ies. That's the bums. But I had a great birthday non-the-less.

Nick took me to the Sandy Aquarium, which I loved. Just wished there were not SO many kids so I could get close to some of the cool things. But Nick loved it because he was fascinated in learning all sorts of things about each animal! It was cute to have him spit facts at me. My own Bill Nye!

Since my birthday was on Sunday, my wonderful sis-in-law, Leah, invited us over for dinner and we had a tasty meal followed by dirt cake (I've had it as my birthday cake since I was ummm...6. Love it)

THEN, (since the party never ends for me) My parents had us over on the following Tuesday for steak and presents. They were in Vancouver so they couldn't be there on the actual day. But it just meant more attention for me :) haha.

Nick got me some super cute shoes and a swim suit for Costa Rica! What a great husband I have. Anyways, happy birthday to me! Today actually is my mom's B-day! She said she had a great birthday too! I think I learned milking my birthday all month long from her. :)

Bun-Bun

Yesterday a girl in my class told me, "You are the only girl I know that can pull off a bun on the top of your head." Compliment or insult?? If compliment-strange.

So I was telling Nick the story at dinner and he laughed, then this girl said to me (with my bun still in my hair) "It's a compliment. Definatley."

So there you have it. I can pull off a bun on the top of my head. A 18 year old in my class, and a girl at Rubio's told me so.

Daddy Warbucks

We have these friends that have a little habit about us. We told them once that we can't go out to eat with them cause we were poor. We just didn't want to spend the money; not that we couldn't. Anyways, since that time (4 months ago!) they have been blabbing whenever they can that Nick and Kim are poor and can't participate in things due to price.

For ex:

"Joe and Sue, you want to come to dinner with us? Sorry Kim, we won't invite you cause it's a pricey place."

"Why didn't you buy more than one DVD?" (DVD sale at FYE) "Oh, they can't buy more because they are poor."

"Where do you guys want to go eat?" "Pick someplace cheap cause Nick and Kim can't go someplace expensive."

So, it's pretty funny. They are DEAD serious when they say it too. Nick and I laugh at it- but it's so weird to me that they are just saying it like, how's-the-weather casual. I would feel terrible if I flat out said something like that about another's private life. But they are a pretty blunt couple and it doesn't suprise me. I've learned to laugh at it.

Costa Rica here we come!

Nick and I are headed to Costa Rica in August!!! We are very excited. Above is what Nick will be doing while we are there. Below is what I will be doing while we are there. So now is the time we are trying to get everything done and prepared to go. First off, Spring term, then Summer term, then a light tan glow, then drop 10 lbs to be swimsuit ready, then packing and heading to airport. We are going to stay either in Jaco or Hermosa. Two surfing towns Nick wants to stay in. All I need is sunshine and a sandy beach. No rocky beaches! That is my request. Also, turtles will be hatching so hopefully we will be able to see one or two!!! That would make my whole trip. If anyone has been there and has advice for us let me know- I would love to know of some cool things to do and see!

AHHH Sunshine :) I can't wait.
