Bragging Rights

Do you see the boy on the cover? Well that's my oldest nephew, Nate. He was the model for the book covers. So proud of that handsome guy. I guess I should buy the books like any proud aunt would do...

Portland, Maine

This past weekend holiday we decided to take a little vacation to Portland, Maine. It is a beautiful town! When I pictured what Providence would be like, this is what I pictured. A port town, with some old time charm. We walked around the wharf's, did a little shopping, ate at some awesome places (even some TV shows were filmed at these places), and visited the Portland Head Lighthouse (which George Washington commission to be built over 200 years ago and is still functioning) then picked up some little lobster friends to come home with us. (which we ate with our friends Eric and Liddy last night. They were delicious!!) It is only 2.5 hours north of us, so it was totally worth the trip. We both had a great time, and like always, Colette did just great. I love living in New England so we can experience things like this!

Life Lately

Not much has been going on lately. Colette has been doing great. She officially took her first 2.5 steps! Very exciting around here...but she has yet to reproduce these steps so my guess is that she will just do it again whenever she feels like it. Kind of like her mom in that area :)
Here are the puffy coat, purple shoe gals. Nick and I were headed to the Boston temple and my friend, Jenny (right), was going to watch Colette for the morning. She had a meeting at the church with my friend, Sarita (left) so Colette just hung out with them there. She is pretty good in regards to stranger anxiety. Just nervous at first, then she is cool. Hopefully it stays that way and doesn't get worse.
This is a cute picture of Colette and her cousin, Kate, taking a bath together while we were in Utah. I just love this picture and wanted to share it. I love these two!
And this is from last night. Colette and I were sharing some marshmallows. I stuck one to her forehead. She didn't think it was very funny- but I sure did!

Clean House

I love a clean house, and I really like to clean. (I know, weird) This morning was clean the house day. So I went room and room and deep cleaned them all. Just beautiful.

Then Colette woke up from her nap and now this is what it looks like again...

Kids. They just mess everything up! Oh well. I guess there is always next week.

Utah Trip

Last week Colette and I flew out to Utah. The flight there was long, but she was a trooper and was the perfect flying baby! The first day my mom watched Colette while I went and cut my hair off (6"! and no, I didn't like it at first...but now it's starting to grow on me, slowly, so we shall see if I like it by the end of the month. I'll let you know) The next day we went to my sister's house to scrapbook, but mostly ended up setting up out scrapbook stuff and playing with babies. Leah came with cousin Kate, and Megan brought down new baby Hudson. He is such a tiny peanut!! But we had a nice time hanging out, talking, and giving my 17 year old niece un-needed advice (I say un-needed because she is a smart girl and can figure out for herself)

Then we went snowboarding the next day. Needless to say, I still got it after 2 years. No one had to wait up for me, but by lunch time, my un-used muscles were sore, and my knees were tender. But I made it. Sad to say I can't say the same for my advanced skiier mom, who skiied into a tree! Literally. Not funny at first, but once we saw she was okay it was kinda funny.

After that I went to church with my family, my oldest nieces came over for dinner and to try on my wedding dress. I wish I was around them more. They are growing into the most wonderful ladies.
The next day was Monday and my mom and I went shopping all day. Colette was perfect, as usual ;) and then we visited my 92 year old Grandma Lola in her re-hab room (she broke her back over Christmas falling down stairs!!) and my sister Elise came over to say good-bye.
It was a quick trip, but full of family and fun times. It's nice to see that not much has changed. Living out here in RI I feel like I am missing out on a lot, but turns out I'm not :) I guess I was the life of the party. hahaha

Oh and the flight home was terrible. Colette SCREAMED the whole time and I got a lot of nasty looks. Oh well people- I flew Southwest so you could CHOOSE not to sit by a little baby! Bad choice on your behalf

Roger Williams Zoo

A couple weeks ago the weather was so nice that the Resch family and us went to the Zoo! We saw all the animals because they were outside, due to the great weather, and had a fun time there and then out at the pizza parlour on the East Side. We love this family!
Lucas and the play elephant above, and Penny with Colette riding shot-gun, below.

Colette's favourite part was Penny and Lucas; after that is was the seals. She loved watching them swim around. With everything else, I don't think she quite grasped the idea of a 'zoo'. But I had a great time and even saw a Red Panda for the first time in my life.
