VANCOUVER, B.C., CANADA

I just got home last night from my AWESOME trip to Vancouver! Nick is a wonderful husband who let me go and I had the greatest time ever-

Day 1: Wednesday
My flight went from Salt Lake to Seattle, then off on the 25 minute flight to Vancouver. It was SO green as we flew into Vancouver and yes, it was raining. I got my bag and headed to Surrey. Ate sushi for dinner with Allie and Laura and chit chatted/caught up on life for a long time! Oh and I made them go on a Canada candy run to the corner store. But they were bad friends and didn't remind me that Popeye's "Candy Sticks" were not as good as I rememered. They had a good laugh when they saw me eat them.

Day 2: Thursday
Woke up, ate oatmeal and got dressed in hiking gear. Allie and I drove up to Lynn Canyon to hike the area and walk the suspension bridge. I couldn't get over the green and wetness all around. I was even smelling the hand rails cause it was SO FRESH smelling! I LOVED every minute of it. We found a cool little 'blue lagoon' area. (you will see a picture). After that hike (oh and it rained the whole time) we went to lunch at White Spot. Allison informed me that I was too old to get the Pirate boat kids meal, but I settled with a sandwhich. We were going to meet up with Laura so we bought time by walking around Guildford mall, purchased Smarties, and tried to remember this mall, but I just couldn't remember it. The stores seemed like they moved around on me. After that we went to the Jason's Chu's corner store. Everything was moved around again, and Allie was scared of the sketchiness of it, so we left :) Then we drove to the old neighborhood. The weirdest feeling in the world was walking up the street into the cul-de-sac with Allison by my side. Crazy feeling. AND it seemed so small!!! We couldn't get over how small the neigborhood felt and how steep we use to think my drive way was. Laura met up with us and we walked the old path to Harold Bishop elementary school. Laughing and talking the whole way. We use to think that walk was HOURS and DRAGGED on so long, but literally it's like a 8 minute walk. If that. At Harold Bishop we decided to go inside. Got our visitor tags and laughed at the pictures of us on the wall. Guess who still works there? Ms. Halfknights!!! We talked with her for awhile. She said the school is mostly special needs kids now. Maybe it always was, but she was being nice cause we went there :) But it was really fun to see the school.

Day 3: Friday
We woke up, ate pancakes and headed to downtown Vancouver. Carmen, Allie and Laura's older sister lives there now. We did some shopping. I purchased many Canadian souveniers and yes it rained the whole time. Then we met up with Carmen, bought more chocolate bars at Costco, and went out to dinner downtown. It was the best time! I loved just being there and sitting with good friends talking the whole night!

Day 4: Saturday
Woke up, got ready, and headed over to my friends Sarah's parent's house. Helped them get ready for Sarah's baby shower, then headed over to Sarah's house. Suprised her cause she didn't know I was coming! She was shocked- to some degree. Not sure if she was that excited to see me.... but I had a fun time looking at pictures of her wedding and meeting her nice husband. She seemed like she is really happy with her life and that is what matters. Walked over to her baby shower. Ate delicious food her mom made. Met Sarah's step-sister-in-laws, who were very nice to me. Then I headed back over to Allie's house (cause I was uncomfortable for some reason and felt like it was her day to be with close loved ones, so I let her do that) I had a nice time seeing her though. Ten years it had been! crazy how time flies. Back at Allie's we exchanged pictures and hung out talking again. Lots of talking this week- but I loved being there. (I think I have said that several times)

Day 5: Sunday
Woke up, Tim Horton's for breakfast, and drove to airport. Flew to Seattle (after a miserable flight) then headed off to Salt Lake. L. Tom Perry was sitting in first class and I did a terrible job of introducing myself. In fact I can't remember what I said to him? But I know it didn't make sense. oh well- :)

That was my wonderful trip. I had the best time ever and I can't wait to go up again. I talked Allison in coming to Utah for some awesome snowboarding next year and I plan on going up there more often and not every 10 years!!! P.S. it rained the whole way to the airport. Rainy, rainy, the whole time- I loved it

Happy Halloween

Nick and I had a fun time for Halloween. As you saw earlier we went to a couple party's but here are our beautiful pumpkins we carved :) So talented. See if you can tell what my pumpkin is doing. Nick got it on his first guess.

p.s. it's whistling

Hiking the Y

So this happened a couple months ago. Just haven't posted in a long time.
I was on a 'being active' kick, needless to say I have unfortunetly stopped but plan to get hooked again, just need a kick in the bum; SO one Saturday I convinced anti-BYU-pride Nick to hike the Y with me. We did it very fast and it was fun to do. Not necessary to hike the Y but also just to hike together. We rarely have time to do things like that so we had a good time.

Halloween 2009

Nick and I went to a couple Halloween parties. Both were SUPER fun!!! The first was at my friend Kierst's house and there were some pretty cute kids there! The second was at my friend Bree's house and it's always fun to see what other couples dress up as- ideas for next year.
This year Nick was a door to door Amex alarms sales guy (very funny) and I was a sheep, lamb, whatever.
We carved pumpkins the night before and watched a scary movie- It was such a fun Halloween! But I am sugared out. Not like me.. :) Anyways, you have to see Leah's blog to see how cute my niece and nephew were! I can't get over Lucy's outfit! I love it
