Halloween

Colette was Princess Leah. She was a hit at the ward Christmas party and when we went to Nick's school to bring the grad students some candy. I made the costume myself! So I'm proud of myself for that because the robe is lined...ooooooh.
Carving pumpkins with my dad and Nick. We kept a bunch of seeds and I made 'Savory Pumpkin seeds' (garlic salt, worcheshire sauce, butter, pepper) THEY WERE DELICIOUS and I'm not huge on seeds.

Colette with her little pumpkin. We finally had a use for a binkie of hers. ha. And below is her sucking on a Twix. She loved the shiny wrappers of everything!
Overall, we had a great Halloween. My parents were here the week before so we had lots of fun, and Halloween night we had 1 Trick or Treater...a teenage girl! So it was a slow night, but we had a nice relaxing night. I think next year though we are going to take Colette to the White House to trick or treat. That would be really fun! I'll have to think of a REALLY cool costume for her.

Brown Baby

Brown baby, brown baby, what do you see?
Colette is now 6 months old!

Strawberry fields forever....

Ok, ok, more like apple, raspberry, and all other items forever...but we had a great time none-the-less. When Nick's sister, brother-in-law, and nephew came to town, they showed us this great little part of Rhode Island where there are orchards! So we went and picked apples and had a great time. Colette just loved gumming on the apples and I loved having so many apples so that I could freeze some pies for Thanksgiving time.

So much to catch up on

I have so much to catch up on, but my first item up is this great 100 calorie pack of fries at McDonald's. I ordered my kids meal, and there they were- replacing the 380 calorie pack! AND they put apples with it. What a great meal and the whole thing was...ummm...(let me do the math) about 350 calories. GREAT and being a new mommy, seeing kids meal become healthier makes me happy.

She's a mover and a shaker

So Nick and I were just hanging out and watching Colette, when she suddenly decided to pick herself up on all four limbs!!!! We ran and got the video camera and she did it for us one more time before she was done for the night. How exciting to see her one step closer to crawling...By now (three days later) she does it all the time! Oh, and today I came in to the family room after brushing my teeth and where do I find Colette? Under the couch...Her little head was sticking out looking at me with a confused look on her face. It was the cutest thing! Second cutest thing, she likes to sleep on her tummy now with her bum high in the air. Love this baby

Colette Laughing

She doesn't laugh non-stop, so when we can get her laughing, we try to stretch it out as long as possible. It's is the best sound we get to hear each day. Here is my attempt at making her laugh.

Jumping Johnny

She just loves this! This is her first time with it, but by now, she is jumping up and down and having the best time.

Just cause...

xoxxo

Long day...

We had the LDS missionaries over for dinner the other night, and look who was party pooped out. She just fell right to sleep during their message. It was the sweetest thing.

Freedom Trail

We drove to Boston not too long ago and walked the Freedom Trail. Since I don't know much about American history, we purchased a little book to explain what things were on the trail. What was important, what wasn't...the John Adams movie Nick and I watched was helpful too :) Overall, it was really cool. I loved seeing all the OLD headstones and pretending I was stepping back in time. Can you imagine living in Boston back then? Oh, and we finished our day at the famous bakery, Mike's Pastries. Two chocolate dipped cannoli's later we were headed home, 40 minutes away. (I just love that we live so close to so much!)
