Bless Your Little Fur

Max Wright
1992-2010
When I was young my best friend's cat had kittens. My parents let me have one, so after they gave away all the other cats, my little Max was for me. I played with him every day, and I even put him in doll clothes. So he has gotten old and very tired looking. His hips were going out, and he was vomiting all his food. I didn't want him to suffer anymore. One day my parents said it's time to put him down. The next day I made an appointment. I knew he was hurting, but it still felt like I was killing him. I think the hardest part was that I have known him for 18 years! He's seen everything in my life. But now I know he is happy.

So rest in peace my little feline friend. I know I'll miss you.

Maple Mash

Well Canada Day was July 1 and my sister wanted to throw a Canada Day party, but she decided to have it a little further away from July 4th and also some Canadian friends were coming down, so July 30 was the day. We sent out an invite to all the local Canadians (From B.C only, duh) and had a great time eating BBQ, swimming, playing games, and catching up. I didn't know very many people as they were more in my sisters age range, but I still had a nice time talking and remembering all the tasty Canada things.

Twilight: Eclipse

So I finally saw Eclipse. Now, I've read the books and I've enjoyed the first two movies so I was a little excited to see this movie, I'll admit it. BUT honestly how bad was this movie?! Are they serious with what they delivered? Really? I couldn't fully enjoy it because it was so terrible!

Here are my issues with it:
1. Bella's wig. It was so bad! Come on- we all know she did the Joan Jett movie and chopped her hair grotesque, but this wig- really? I couldn't stop staring at how bad it looked. Below is a poster with her wearing it. She looks like a new actress compared to how she looked in previous movies.
2. These 'vampires' looked fake! (Yeah I know they don't exist but I mean movie fake) I could see all the make up that went into making them. They bad hair dye (all of them), their painted eyebrows, the white skin, the lip liner/lip stick- ALL OF IT! No one in their right mind would think Edward was better looking than Jacob with all the make up he was wearing
3. The acting. But that is a given. It hasn't been good in any of the movies.

I would like to give it to Jacob though. He seemed to really take his role more seriously. He bulked up, he took acting classes...he was the only person on the screen (aside from Charlie) that I could stand. I did like him more in his 'wolf' shape though.

Those are my thoughts on Twilight: Eclipse. P.S. SO EXCITED FOR POTTER!

We all know the Weimmie is the only thing I MIGHT be able to get one day, but donations are always welcome for the others!

Run Kim Run!

My victory run

Leah's victory run
I have recently finished my third 5k race that I ran with my sister-in-law Leah. Well I started the race with her, but due to my turtle like speed, I told her to keep going so I wouldn't slow her down. Needless to say I finished, I didn't walk, and I kept the same speed as my last run. So I think it was a winner of a run afterall. Nick met us at the finish line so here are some pictures of us crossing the line.

Day on the Lake

Nick's jump
Kim's jump
Whatever this is called...
We took out my parents new boat recently and brought some friends along for a day at the lake. It was really fun to just relax and spend some time in the sun. We wakeboarded, swam, dragged the boys behind the boat on the rope (their idea), and laughed while the boys attempted to tube together in a leap-frog sort of way... I sure wish we got a picture of that! All and all it was a super fun day and we love hanging out with the Gibson family!

A little visit from little Jayden

Nick's nephew Jayden came to stay with us for a week from NYC so he could attend BYU Cubs Soccer camp. He had so much fun playing. After his first day I asked him if he made any friends, and he said, Yeah! Lots! So Nick and I went to watch him play a couple games. He is pretty good, and his favourite position is offense. (He's in teh red shirt)
One day we also took him to the Creamery for dinner and then bowling. Just to toot my own horn, I bowled a 136 and beat everyone! Pretty amazing for me (someone who never breaks 100)
Nick also wanted to take him skateboarding, so we went to the park and he learned to push around, go down ramps, and faux drop in. Nick loved showing something he loves with someone else who is interested in it as much as he is.
Then another day we took him boating. He said the only boat he has been on it a big boat. Nick said the Ferry in New York? He said yeah. So we made sure he went in the tube! He LOVED it and was fearless- he even made a new best buddy out of Isaac my nephew. (This is a high five after they pushed good sport Nick into the water)
Then the final day we took him swimming at my sister's pool. He was just a little fish all day long! We sure wore him out though because he fell asleep in the car on the drive home. I think he had a really fun time! I know we loved watching him. He was so nice, polite, and helpful and I hope he can come stay with us again sometime!

A laugh to cheer me up

Yesterday I crashed Scoots McGee. It got stuck the that tricky gear between 1st and neutral. So I slid on the and hit my head! Good thing I was wearing the above helmet! Now I have a really stiff neck, and big black bruises up my side of my body. So I still had to go into work (trooper, or one who needs money) and while there I needed a laugh. I found this old email forward my brother sent to me. I laughed again at it and wanted to post it for everyone else to have a laugh. It's pretty funny!
1. While driving yesterday I saw a banana peel in the road and instinctively swerved to avoid it...thanks Mario Kart.
2. The letters T and G are very close to each other on a keyboard. This recently became all too apparent to me and consequently I will never be ending a work email with the phrase "Regards" again.
3. Is it just me, or are 80% of the people in the "people you may know" feature on facebook people that I do know, but I deliberatelychoose not to be friends with?
4. I would rather try to carry 10 plastic grocery bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.
5. Do you remember when you were a kid; playing Nintendo and it wouldn't work? You take the cartridge out, blow in it and that would magically fix the problem. Every kid in American did that, but how did we all know how to fix the problem? There were no Internet or message boards or FAQ's. We just figured it out. Today's kids are soft.
6. There is a great need for a sarcasm font.
7. I think everyone has a movie that they love so much; it actually becomes stressful to watch it with other people. I'll end up wasting 90 minutes shiftily glancing around to confirm that every one's laughing at the right parts, then making sure I laugh just a little bit harder earlier to prove that I'm still the only one who really, really gets it.
8. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.
9. LOL has gone from meaning, "laugh out loud" to "I have nothing else to say"
10. Whenever someone says, "I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart", all I hear is "I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart."
11. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars teams up to prevent a slacker form cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers!
12. Every time I have to spell a word over the phone using 'as in' example, I will undoubtedly draw a blank and sound like a complete idiot. Today I had to spell my boss's last name to an attorney and said "Yes that's G as in.....ummm...Goonies"
13. I find it hard to believe there are actually people who get in the shower first and THEN turn on the water
14. Whenever I'm Facebook stalking someone and I find out their profile is public I feel like a kid on Christmas morning that just got a the Red Ryder BB gun that I always wanted. 546 pictures? Don't mind if I do!
15. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after DVD's? I don't want to have to restart my collection.
16. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I wan to save any changes to my ten page research paper that I swear I didn't make any changes to.
17. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this ever.
18. I have being the one with the remote in a room full of people watching TV. There's so much pressure. "I love this show, but will they judge me if I keep it one? I bet everyone is wishing we weren't watching this. It's only a matter of time before they all get up and leave the room. Will we still be friends after this?"
19. I like all the music on my iTunes, except when it's on shuffle, then I like about one in every fifteen songs in my iTunes.
20. It should probably be called Unplanned Parenthood.
21. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.

July 4th

For July 4th (which in Provo was actually celebrated on July 5th) My sister-in-law Leah and brother Geoff and I ran a 5k for the Freedom Festival. My goal: To not walk any part of it. And I achieved my goal. Poor Leah had to wait up for me several times because I am a slower runner when I am tired, but we had a fun time.

After that we met up with friends and family and watched the Provo Parade. The kids were sadly disappointed there was no candy, but we had a nice time nontheless.
For the weekend I spent several hours laying out at my sister's pool, lighting fireworks, and eating way too much food! Nick spent the holiday in Washington D.C. I totally missed him not being there, but seeing the fireworks at the Washington Monument on July 4th would have been a once in a lifetime chance! He said it was really cool!

Typing Talent

I have a secret talent that my co-worker and I figured out and tested. I can type 78 words per minute! That is pretty fast! So if you need me to type something for you, just let me know and I can finish it in a zippy. haha
